We are a high producing clinical research center with low screen failures, high patient retention, and a great quality record. We are a proven clinical trial center. Dr. Sangal is a Certified Principal Investigator by the Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research (which is affiliated with the Association of Clinical Research Professionals). He trained at Johns Hopkins University Hospitals. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in Sleep Medicine as well as in Clinical Neurophysiology. His interests lie in Sleep Disorders (Insomnia, Sleep Apnea, Hypersomnia and Narcolepsy, Parasomnia, Sleep Related Movement Disorders, and Circadian Rhythm Sleep Disorders), as well as in Attention Disorders (Adult Attention Deficit (ADD/ADHD), Attention Deficit (ADD/ADHD) in Children, Mild Cognitive Impairment)

Fast Response Time: We work fast. We will turn around contracts and 1572s within 24 to 48 hours of receipt. We will work with any central IRB.

High Producing: For most of the protocols we have done we were in the upper 10% of sites in enrollment, often being the top enroller.

Low Screen Failure Rates: Our screen failure rates tend to be lower than average.

High Patient Retention: Our patient retention rates (to completion of protocol) tend to be higher than average.

Lots of Experience: We have performed over 75 protocols (link) successfully.

Involved Principal Investigator: Dr. Sangal is intimately involved in every protocol. He sees every patient at every visit.

Trained Staff: JoAnne M Sangal, PhD, is an experienced Co-Investigator, having been involved in all the protocols. Dr. Bart Sangal trains and supervises his staff himself.

High Research Drug Accuracy: We take Research Drug seriously. We have double-locked cabinets for Scheduled research drugs. We do not make drug errors. We account for all Research Drug meticulously.

Availability of Equipment: We have a minus 20o Celsius freezer. We draw blood ourselves, centrifuge it ourselves, and pack and ship it appropriately. We do our own CLIA-waived tests. We calibrate our digital scales and have automated blood pressure instruments. We have an ECG machine. We have a separate drug storage room with refrigerated drug storage and double-locked cabinets.

Associated sleep disorders center: We have an AASM accredited sleep disorders center as part of our facility. We are Clinilabs certified.

FDA Audit: We have had an FDA audit. We passed it with flying colors.

Electronic CRFs: We have extensive experience with eCRFs and will work with any of them.

Electronic Patient Diaries: We have worked with electronic patient diaries in many forms, and can help our patients work with any of them.

Changing definitions of sleep apnea – should we still treat mild sleep apnea? Whether we should treat mild sleep obstructive apnea, may depend on the definition used for scoring hypopneas. Sleepy, Tired, Fatigued? You May Have Idiopathic Hypersomnia

Are you tired, sleepy, fatigued? You may have Idiopathic Hypersomnia. Sleep medicine doctors often ignore idiopathic hypersomnia. Many sleep medicine doctors focus exclusively on sleep apnea. Others understand and look for narcolepsy with cataplexy (now called narcolepsy type 1). Narcolepsy with cataplexy is a rare disorder. In my experience, narcolepsy without cataplexy (now called narcolepsy…
