We Diagnose and Successfully Treat Sleep Disorders and Attention Disorders

Sleep and attention are more connected than most people realize. Untreated sleep apnea can mimic ADHD symptoms. Poor sleep worsens attention, mood, and memory. At Sleep & Attention Disorders Institute, we are one of the few clinics in Michigan that treat both, giving patients a more complete picture of their health.

Whether you or your child is dealing with chronic snoring, difficulty falling asleep, unexplained daytime sleepiness, or trouble concentrating in school or at work, our specialists can help you find answers and a clear path to treatment.

Conditions We Treat

Sleep Disorders in Children

Sleep disorders in children often go undiagnosed, impacting health, behavior, and school performance. Symptoms include poor sleep, daytime sleepiness, or snoring.

Adult Sleep Apnea

Breathing interruptions during sleep cause poor rest, fatigue, and serious health risks. We offer in-lab and home sleep testing.

Hypersomnia & Narcolepsy

Excessive daytime sleepiness, sudden muscle weakness, and sleep attacks can be caused by narcolepsy, a treatable neurological condition.

Insomnia

Difficulty falling or staying asleep affects millions. We identify the root cause and create a personalized treatment plan, including CBT for insomnia.

Parasomnia

Sleepwalking, night terrors, and REM sleep behavior disorder disrupt your rest and can be dangerous. Our specialists provide expert evaluation.

Other Sleep Disorders

Restless leg syndrome, circadian rhythm disorders, and periodic limb movement. We treat the full spectrum of sleep conditions in children and adults.

Attention Deficit in Children

Attention-Related Conditions like ADHD can cause distraction, impulsivity, and focus issues. These common, treatable conditions can impact behavior and school performance.

Adult Attention Deficit

dult ADHD can cause distraction, impulsivity, and unfinished tasks. This common, lifelong condition often begins in childhood and continues into adulthood.

Could Your ADHD Be a Sleep Problem in Disguise?

Research shows that up to 50% of children diagnosed with ADHD may actually have an underlying sleep disorder causing their symptoms. Sleep apnea, in particular, produces many of the same signs: difficulty concentrating, hyperactivity, irritability, and poor academic performance.

Unlike most clinics, we specialize in both areas. Our evaluations can identify whether your child’s or your own attention difficulties stem from a sleep issue, a true attention disorder, or both. Getting the right diagnosis is the first step toward the right treatment.
