CLINICAL TRIAL: WOMEN WITH INSOMNIA & HOT FLASHES
MENOPAUSAL WOMEN WITH INSOMNIA
Needed for research study on investigational drug for insomnia
Women 45 to 65, in the menopausal period, with difficulty staying asleep.
- No menses for at least one year (or have both ovaries removed)
- At least 20 moderate to severe hot flashes a week
- Waking up and lying awake for at least 30 minutes after initially falling asleep
- Spending 6-9 hours a day in bed
- Going to bed between 9 pm and 12 midnight
- No serious medical or psychiatric disorder or sleep apnea
- Not taking or able to stop any sleep medicines or medicines for anxiety or depression
- Not taking or able to stop any hormone replacements or treatments
8 visits including 6 overnights over 4-5 months
Payment may be available for those who qualify and participate (up to about $2600 for completing the study)
